Mr. Nilratan Shende, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Allcargo Group, is a distinguished professional with a Master’s in Social Work from TISS and a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay. With over 16 years of experience in the development sector and CSR, he has collaborated with INGOs and corporate entities.

In a recent conversation with Renewable India, Mr. Shinde provided a comprehensive overview of Allcargo and its impactful initiative, Maitree. Emphasizing the bedrock principles of environmental and societal stewardship at Allcargo, he illuminated the company’s extensive global reach across 180 countries, solidifying its pivotal role in cultivating resilient communities amidst the challenges of climate change.
Mr. Shinde went on to elaborate on Maitree’s significant milestone of planting over 1 million fruit-bearing saplings, encompassing 11 diverse types, including custard apple and cashews. He intricately detailed the selection process, underscoring key considerations such as environmental compatibility, plant adaptation, and income generation.
