DRIIV (Delhi Research Implementation & Innovation) is a dynamic initiative of the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) to the Govt. of India, and it is the Delhi S&T Cluster. It aims to create a platform for industry, academia, and government collaboration to foster research projects aligned with the national missions of the country. The cluster comprises more than 50 organizations, including IIT D, IIIT D, JNU, DU, DTU, TERI, AIIMS, CSIR Labs, TESLA Power, Bajaj Motors, Google, and others, primarily working in areas like Waste to Wealth, Deep Tech, Air pollution, Water security, Sustainable mobility, Effective education, Sustainable Energy, and healthcare to address problems of national relevance. DRIIV facilitates the acceleration of technology transfer and commercialization of research by providing support for innovative enterprises.
Ms. Shipra Mishra is the CEO of DRIIV (Delhi Research Implementation & Innovation). She brings a wealth of experience in technology commercialization, innovation, and business development to her role. She has previously worked with leading technology companies and startups in India and foreign lands . Ms. Mishra has played a pivotal role in driving innovation and entrepreneurship in India’s technology ecosystem. She is a strong advocate for creating an atmosphere that fosters collaboration between industry, academia, and government to develop solutions that address environmental challenges. Under her leadership, DRIIV is poised to make a significant impact in advancing Driving Scientific and Sustainable Advancements in India’s research and development capabilities.
Ms. Shipra Mishra, recently spoke with Renewable India and discussed the significant transformation in the science and technology landscape brought about by the cluster concept, which is only two years old in the country. She emphasized DRIIV’s collaboration with academic institutes in and around Delhi to take innovations from the lab to the market. Ms. Mishra highlighted the SAMEER project’s importance in helping India achieve its sustainability objectives by mitigating air pollution. She explained that Delhi NCR is the most affected area when it comes to pollution, and DRIIV is doing everything in its power to eradicate this problem in the area specifically. Ms. Mishra emphasized that India needs concerted efforts between industry, academia, and government bodies to achieve its goals, and which is why DRIIV designs formats for public-private partnerships. Furthermore, Ms. Mishra highlighted DRIIV’s efforts to reduce pollution at the core level and work with nearly 15 startups. She emphasized community engagement and included multiple stakeholders, such as farmers and the medical fraternity from Vedanta, as well as school children, to spread awareness and provide them with tools to assess problems and come up with correlations and solutions.
